Stone Bowl, Newgrange

This stone bowl lies in the inner chamber of Newgrange Passage tomb.  The tomb was probably a burial place for kings whose ashes were placed in the large stone bowls in the chambers.

60 standing stones some 5 to 8 foot high line the passage and three chambers.  They are decorated with zigzag and spiral patterns.
