Loreli

By Fiona

At night she sits upon the rocks,
Combing down her golden locks
She sings, and the sailors taunts
Her voice and looks forever haunts.
So sweet the sound,
so sweet and clear
Infinitely pleasing to the ear.
Men have jumped to join her there
While she combs her golden hair.
What they forget is that they,
Under water cannot stay.
So instead of staying below,
Up to heaven they all go.
their body then the maidens keep
And bring down into the deep.
Forever caught in Neptune's web
For the sailors are all dead.
